It is often said that 'good teachers' are born, not made' and it does sem that some people have a natural affinity for the job. But there are others, perhaps, who do not have what appears to have a natural affinity for the job. Such teachers learn their craft through a mixture of personality, intelligence, knowledge, and experience (and how they reflect on it).
Teaching is not an easy job, but it is a necessary one, and can be very rewarding when we see our student's progress and know that we have helped them to make it happen. Teachers are role models in learning and therefore they motivate, inspire and guide learners to strive for excellence to their full potential.
The teachers or contributors in this website have founts of experience in guiding learners from elementary to tertiary levels. They are all experts in their specific discipline and they have presented research articles, literary works, language notes, lesson plans, language exercises and activities and language games. The lessons prepared are graded as elementary, intermediate and advanced levels. Teachers have also constructed test items so that learners can self-assess their progress. In brief, our teachers are aware of novice teachers and the materials prepared can be a good resource to cater for the varied abilities andneeds of their learners in acquiring knowledge.
